Kona Dream Builds: George Kouzis Race Ready Hei Hei CR

Built for a full season of XC shredding, George Kouzis’ Hei Hei CR is a pure race weapon. Hailing from Cyprus and fresh off his appearance in our Hei Hei release video, George’s setup is light, fast, and unapologetically dialed. This is a bike made to pin it from the start line to the final sprint.

Up front, a RockShox SID Ultimate fork delivers razor-sharp tracking and efficiency, paired with a SID Luxe Ultimate rear shock to keep the Hei Hei planted and fast when the trail gets rough. Together, they balance speed and control perfectly for modern XC racing.

E13 XCX carbon wheels keep things light and responsive, built to accelerate hard and hold speed when it matters most. Maxxis Rekon Race tires bring low rolling resistance with just enough bite for technical courses and high-speed corners.

Shifting duties are handled by a TRP derailleur and shifter, paired with an E13 9–50T cassette for a wide, race-ready gear range. SRAM Truvativ cranks transfer power efficiently, while Shimano XT brakes with KCNC rotors provide confident, consistent stopping when every second counts.

An E13 90mm dropper adds just enough flexibility for technical descents without sacrificing weight. The Prologo carbon saddle and XTR pedals round out the build, keeping things lightweight, comfortable, and fully race-spec from start to finish.
