We’re not sure about you, but we can’t get enough of these bone-white Shonky Dream Builds — and yes, there are more lined up. The latest to land in the Kona Dream Builds inbox is this super-clean, brakeless Pool Shark build from Kona Test Team rider Derek Hines.

Like many Shonkys out there, Derek has opted for a well-loved RockShox Pike DJ up front.

The stock Three-piece steel cranks are paired with a matching black KMC half-link chain, drive a 14T rear cog, with more Profile goodness in the form of the hubs.

Out back, Derek has filed off the derailleur mount from the sliding dropouts for an ultra-clean look.

He’s also taken a file to the non-drive side, removing the brake adapters from the dropouts. We don’t necessarily recommend this approach, but Derek is all-in on a brakeless dirt jump bike — and he’s been riding this setup for years.

The bike rolls on Spank Spoon rims wrapped in Demolition Momentum tyres, while Deity Supervillain pedals keep Derek’s shins on notice.

A WTB Rocket saddle provides the only splash of colour on this black-and-white masterpiece, and a Signature bar and stem finish off the cockpit with clean, understated style.
