Kona Dream Builds: Cycle Path Medicine Build One Epic Ouroboros CR DL

Some bikes come together with spreadsheets, timelines, and strict plans. Others happen the way the best rides do, organically. This Ouroboros CR DL falls squarely into the second category.

Built by the crew at Cycle Path in Medicine Hat, Alberta, this Dream Build was put together for a customer who wanted a drop-bar bike that didn’t see limits. The Ouroboros is already a bike that refuses to be boxed in, and this build leans fully into that spirit.

At the heart of it all is the carbon Ouroboros CR DL, Kona’s most progressive interpretation of what a drop-bar bike can be. Clearance for big tires, suspension compatibility, and geometry that encourages you to ride into the unknown rather than around it.

Ditching the stock rigid carbon fork, the build runs a Fox Factory 32 TC, bringing real suspension performance to the drop-bar world. Lightweight, sensitive, and incredibly controlled, the 32 TC takes the edge off rough terrain without dulling the ride.

A Shimano 12-speed GRX Di2 setup handles shifting and braking duties. Crisp, precise, and unfazed by weather or long days, it’s a drivetrain built for riders who value reliability as much as performance.

The bike rolls on a We Are One Revive wheelset, a choice that speaks volumes. Designed, engineered, and manufactured with serious intent, these wheels strike a balance between strength and responsiveness, perfect for a bike that might see everything from fast gravel to rocky trail detours. Wrapped around them are WTB Raddler 44 x 700 tires.

Out back, the PNW Components Coast Dropper Post adds another layer of versatility. The ability to drop the saddle on descents or technical sections transforms how this bike can be ridden, encouraging the rider to push further off the map and into terrain that most “gravel” bikes would politely avoid.

The build is rounded out with a Cane Creek 40 headset and an Industry Nine A3 stem.

Huge thanks to Cycle Path Medicine Hat for putting together a build that perfectly captures what the Ouroboros is all about. This is what happens when a shop, a rider, and a frame all share the same idea.
