Kona Bikes is teaming up with the Maui Mountain Bike Coalition (MMBC) for an inspiring project: building Maui's first-ever free community bike park in Napili, just north of Lahaina. This initiative comes at a critical time, as the Lahaina community is still recovering from the devastating August 2023 wildfire that displaced over 10,000 people and destroyed essential recreational spaces. The bike park will be a much-needed sanctuary for the keiki (children) and families, providing them with a place to heal, grow, and enjoy outdoor activities.
Kona Bikes has always been dedicated to creating trail projects that uplift local communities. With a strong track record that includes initiatives like the Build with Purpose project in Oaxaca and Bellingham’s first-ever Dual Slalom course, Kona is excited to bring the same level of commitment to Maui. The goal is simple: create a lasting impact by offering a safe and fun space for riders of all ages to come together.
