15 year old Kona Factory Rider Tayte Proulx-Royds made the trip out to the Fox US Open in Vermont last week from her home in BC. She was there to race in the Dual SLalom and in the DH, her first race as in the Pro Women's category. The Dual Slalom track had issues with drainiage and rain but once sorted, Tayte charged her way to the podium, narrowly missing out on the top step, she'd finish in second place.
In the DH, day one of seeding went really well and she knew that on race day there were opportunities to bring time back on the t rack. She was right, on finals day, she managed to find eight seconds to finish 11th overall in a what really turned out to be a very fast world cup rider filled Pro field.
