This past week Kona Factory Team Rider Eddie Reynolds made the long trip from his home in Southern California to the Alp's of Austria for Crankworx Innsbruck. While the event started on a high, with Eddie taking second place in the Whip-Offs, weather and then a bad crash in Dual Slalom would play a dominant role in Eddies event first and last Crankworx Innsbruck experience (this was the events final time at the Austrian resort). We caught up with Eddie to see how his first European event went down.
"Innsbruck was an awesome experience! Speed and Style was shaping up to be pretty fun; the track was cool, and I was getting tricks more consistently. When the wind started blasting, a couple of riders, including myself, didn’t feel comfortable throwing down in the gusts, so we ended up sitting it out for safety. Whip-Offs were great! I would’ve loved to spend more time at that jump to test the true potential of whips on an MTB, but I was stoked about the afternoon. Slalom was a bust; I qualified in sixth, then blew it in the round of 32 with a crash and took a wild ride, which left me quite immobile for Pump Track the next day, but I gave it my all! All in all, it was a super fun week riding bikes. I can’t wait for Whistler!" - Eddie Reynolds
