Kona Dream Builds: Gee Milner builds An Epic Hei Hei CR

Gee Milner has just finished an incredible Dream Build on a Kona Hei Hei, and it is well worth checking out. This latest version of the Hei Hei features a full carbon frame with 120mm of travel and is built to perform on both fast cross-country terrain and technical trail riding. Gee has loaded it with top-tier components from FOX and RaceFace, creating a bike that is light, capable, and seriously impressive to look at.

The best part is that you can win this exact bike for just one pound. Entries are open worldwide, and you only have 14 days to get involved: Enter Here

Gee kicked off the build with some very gold Kashima-coated Fox suspension. Out the back you'll find the bike's 120mm of rear travel dampened with a FOX Factory Float rear shock. Up front Gee has spec'd a 140mm version of the FOX Factory Float 36SL fork.

For the drivetrain, the cranks and chainring are Race Face's finest ERA components with a 32t RaceFace ERA carbon fibre chainring mated to a matching set of RaceFace ERA carbon fibre cranks. Race Face Turbine pedals propel this weapon of a bike. Shifting is handled by SRAM's new mechanical T-Type 90 derailleur and cassette.

In the wheel department, Hope Pro4 hubs are laced to the latest carbon Recon Pro hoops from Light Bicycle; the wheels are shod with Continental Kryptotal Trail rubber.

Hayes Dominion T2 stoppers mated to Galfer 180mm rotors keep the Hei Hei's speed in check.

There's a little more Kashima featured in the cockpit in the form of a FOX Factory Transfer 150mm seatpost; the saddle is a carbon-railed SDG Bel Air.

The build is rounded off with a RaceFace ERA carbon fibre handlebar mounted to possibly the coolest stem of all time, the RaceFace Turbine SL stem.
