Bikes have been a big part of my life pretty much since the day I was born. My parents were founders of one of New Zealand’s best mountain bike magazines, “Spoke,” so mountain bikes were almost a given. Unless of course I had gone down the path of the other magazine my parents owned, “Manual,” a skateboard mag, which much to my dad’s disappointment, is a sport I never quite picked up.
Fast forward fourteen years and I found myself in Squamish, Canada, atop my first Kona, a 27.5 Kona Process 134. Since then, I haven’t ridden anything other than a Kona, with my current bike of choice being a Process X CR DL.

MORE FROM THE COG BIGGEST INFLUENCE
My parents definitely sit at the top of this list, because without them, I’d probably being playing rugby or field hockey, haha. My dad has been a huge part of where I’m at now, putting me in touch with most of my long-time sponsors, Giro and OneUp which I am extremely grateful for.
Guys I look up to in the MTB scene itself? I look up to the likes of Iago Garay, Josh Lewis, Cody Kelley, and Josh Bryceland, all very stylish and fast fellas who give something more than just fast times (“winning practice” as my dad says), which I really admire.
GOALS FOR THIS YEAR
In the remainder of 2022, I have a few goals I’ve set for myself. My first goal is to produce more (and better) content, whether it be photo epics, articles, and video. My second goal is to get myself to a point where I feel I could “compete” at an EWS, so I’ve been really trying to step up my fitness, skill, and overall pace.
