I’m Aimee and I’m so excited to be a part of the Kona Ambassador Team. I’ve truly been cycling my whole life, but things changed when I turned 10 and my parents gave me a cherry red, 10-speed. The color alone made me feel like a speedy superhero. Biking to school as a kid turned into biking to work as an adult. Back then, I didn’t think I had the stamina or skills to be a distance or trail rider, so I just kept it local. Fast forward to present day. I’ve ridden all over the world and really enjoy solo bike-packing trips, the longest being two weeks around Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. Talk about a gorgeous ride! I learned that I could be any kind of rider I wanted and to not listen to self-doubt. Cycling has given me confidence and it’s also given me freedom. To give back to cycling, I started the Los Angeles Explorers Club in 2015 to help build a cycling community that understands the rich history of our city. If you find yourself in LA, please join us!
