On August 31 and September 1, the Enduro One (E1) celebrated its premiere at the Rabenberg Trail Center (Saxony, Germany). Around 400 riders gathered in the beautiful Erzgebirge to take part in the fifth stop of Europe's largest Enduro MTB series.
The trails in Rabenberg offered a perfect mix - from fast, flowing descents to technically demanding passages that challenged both the riders and captivated the spectators.
E1 tour boss Christoph Döbler was thrilled: "The atmosphere here in Rabenberg was simply perfect. The team on site did a great job and made this race weekend a real highlight. The infrastructure is top-notch and offered a real adventure weekend with everything that goes with it."
Sunday started with a relaxed atmosphere on a sun morning. The riders took to the course early, accompanied by numerous spectators who followed the race along the course. With video feeds from the course on the large LED screen, everyone at the event area was able to experience the action up close and feel what awaited the racers: a relaxed roll-in on Stage 1, which became steeper and more challenging as it progressed. On Stage 2, the Rabenberg showed its often-underestimated toughness. After a flowing and fun stage 3, things got more challenging again. Stages 4 and 5 were the key days in the race due to their length and the technical terrain, where a lot could be gained or lost.
My legs got a little tired on stage 4 and I lost a few seconds on both stages
Finally, Stage 6 required full concentration again to avoid missing the line in the final old-school meadow slalom.
At the end another second place in this race and a good margin of points for the overall.
Matthias with another top ten in his class made this a successful weekend for the team!
