If you are familiar with who Matthew Fairbrother is, you've seen his (literal) cross-country bike trips. A lad with legs of steel who recently tackled the Vancouver Triple Crown ride FIVE TIMES IN A ROW!, Yeah, you read that right. Five times.
He's recently built up his Remote 160 CR, and has a bit to say about it. A few words from the man himself:
"Whenever I’ve thought about E-bikes in the past, I’ve predominantly thought about the intensity, more riding in less time. That’s most certainly true, although what I didn’t expect with this bike was how little I’d need to give up in return. This bike still feels like you’re riding a bike, the feedback from the bike and terrain are still natural and shockingly similar to my enduro bike, the descents are still by far the highlight of the day.
The biggest difference for me is that I’ve found myself saying yes to rides I probably wouldn’t have bothered with before, alongside coming home having done a lot more laps than I thought I would.
This bike has reignited the spark, It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed blasting laps this much!"
And now for the build...
Matthew opted for the size medium frame
The Remote 160 CR sports the Bosch Performance line SX motor which pumps out 600w of power, and up to 60nm of torque.
Raceface Cockpit featuring the Era Carbon bars 760mm
And a 40mm Raceface Turbine stem
A Fox DHX2 is handling the suspension duties out back. Matthew went with a 450lb spring on this build.
Up front he has a Fox Podium Factory fork in 170mm travel configuration.

Shimano 12 speed XTR Di2 is providing the pedal power on this bike. Insanely smooth shifting on this groupset!

Tasty Shimano XTR stoppers to slow this hog down!

Raceface Vault hubs are laced to a set of Raceface Turbine E-MTB wheels. Those wheels are wrapped in Schwalbe Albert Radial tires in the gravity casing
Matthew's feet will be firmly planted to these Crank Brothers Mallet DH pedals
