Stephanie Ignell is known for her love of unicorns and endless stoke for mountain biking. She brings the fun, the shred, and the sparkle to every ride. She is a certified IMBC Level 1 coach and is passionate about getting more ladies stoked on riding bikes. She loves to ride the steep, techy chutes and flowy jump lines of the local Bellingham terrain. The gnarlier it gets, the louder she giggles. Outside of riding, Stephanie has a passion for sustainability and works as an environmental consultant to help companies implement and market environmental/sustainable business practices. She recognizes the need for environmental stewardship within the mountain bike industry and desires to be a part of this change. Stephanie brings a positive attitude to women's riding and strongly believes that women can ride bikes just as hard as their male counterparts. She loves being a Kona Supreme and is thrilled at the opportunity to support women's riding.

PERSONAL TOUCHES ON YOUR BIKES
Purple decals and ESI grips - basically, I ride a unicorn.
"The Chicken Dance" - a sophisticated, choreographed dance that entails vigorous moves of all appendages in opposite directions (otherwise known as "the dead fish").
FAVORITE PLACE TO RIDE
Outside of Bellingham, I’d say BC. It's just too good up there.
WHERE ARE YOU FROM AND WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
I grew up in Juneau, Alaska. I joke that I moved out when I was 18, jumped on a ferry, and got off at the first stop in the continental US (Bellingham, WA) and decided it was good enough.
GOALS FOR THE 2018 SEASON
Get more women stoked on bikes and host more events for the Supremes.
THREE THINGS WE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU
I hate fish and think oysters are the natural loogies of the sea.
I love driving big, diesel trucks but will never own one because of their environmental footprint.
I want to own a tandem bike at some point during my life.
FAVORITE MOMENT OF 2017
Roam Bike Fest in Sedona - it was an amazing experience with inspirational women. While my inner Alaskan does not cope well in the desert, I loved the different type of terrain and getting my ass kicked by the technical climbing.
Another moment was the Chuckanut race as a part of the Cascadia Dirt Cup. It was my first time racing expert and I was incredibly nervous. However, I got to race alongside many of my friends and it was amazing to see so many local homies throughout the race. I would get to the end of a stage and be completely exhausted, only to run in to someone I knew cheering me on and running up to give me a hug. Not only did I land on the podium with two of my friends (Chelsea Hawkins and Michelle Warner) and local female hero (Kirsten Jensen), I got to see one of my best friends land second place in pro (Bonnie Burke). Bellingham has such a strong mountain bike community and it is always great to see how supportive we all are of each other.
