Personal touches on your bikes?
I use Ergon saddle and grips. Crankbrothers Mallet pedals and Maxxis tires.
Pre-ride Rituals
I talk to myself a lot before a race run. Thinking about the track or stage and which bits to look out for. This helps me get focused
Where are you from / where do you live?
I'm from the south of Ireland in a place called Cork. I'm currently living in the French Alps, in a resort called Les Arcs, doing a mixture of big mountain riding on boards and bikes.
Riding with Kona since
I am going into my fifth season riding for Kona Bikes.
Goals for the 2017 season?
To keep on pushing myself to ride faster, and to travel to more new locations for racing and filming. I'm hoping to race three Enduro World Series rounds this year.
Favorite place to ride
I love the Tarentaise Valley in the French Alps. It has all the freshest natural Enduro trails!
Three things we don’t know about you?
  1. I'm really into trail building. I have built since the beginning and can't see myself stopping anytime soon.
  2. I'm half of Team Maunsell, a sibling race team with myself and my sister Leah. We travel to events and ride together all the time, it's the job!
Cats or dogs?
My trail dog Dougal.
Would you rather be eaten by a lion or be eaten by ants?
A lion because at least it would be over sooner.
Zombie apocalypse or alien invasion?
Zombie apocalypse is way more likely to happen.
Would you rather become a superhero or a supervillain?
Supervillian because then you can be way more badass.
Sunrise or sunset?
Sunrise is hard to beat but it takes a lot more planning! When I was in Switzerland filming the Precept range of bikes last year, we got up at 4am and hiked above the clouds for sunrise. That was an unforgettable morning!

Favorite moment of 2016

Getting the opportunity to travel around Norway filming an episode for the series MTB Heroes was really unbelievable. It is definitely the most beautiful place I have ridden bikes. But my favorite moment has to be the high fives shared with the kids I spent a week coaching in Bikepark Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Austria. They were all so stoked all the time, it was awesome. I’m definitely going to be involved with that again this year.
