Connor Fearon

Connor Fearon

I'm 22 years old, from Adelaide, South Australia. I've been obsessed with riding bikes for as long as I can remember. I started racing in 2005 and progressed through the state and national levels until reaching my dream of becoming a professional World Cup racer. When I'm not racing the World Cups I like to ride motocross, go surfing, ride my Humuhumu around and hit up the dirt jumps and skatepark on my Shonky.

Date of Birth
January 19, 1994
Disciplines / Riding or Racing Focus
My main focus is downhill but I like enduros and riding my Shonky at the jumps and skatepark.
Konas in Your Quiver
Supreme Operator, Process 134, Process 167, Shonky, and a couple sweet Humuhumu cruisers.
Personal touches on your bikes?
Pre-ride Rituals
My ritual is to have no rituals because they make me nervous... I just chill and try take my mind off racing.
Where are you from / where do you live?
I was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia, and I still live there when I'm not overseas racing.
Riding with Kona since
Goals for the 2017 season?
Top 10 at every Downhill World Cup, stay injury free, top 20 in the Enduro World Series events that I compete in, and keep having fun!
Favorite place to ride
Queenstown, NZ. They have the best downhill tracks at any bike park I've been to.
Three things we don’t know about you?
  1. I like to work on my own bikes. In the off season I build my own wheels and service my suspension when I can.
  2. I have fake teeth. I smashed mine out on my BMX a few years ago...
  3. I'm also a citizen of Ireland.
Cats or dogs?
Dogs. Cats have some serious attitude and our family dog Oscar is awesome.
Would you rather be eaten by a lion or be eaten by ants?
Eaten by a lion. I wouldn't want to be remembered as the guy who got killed by ants.
Zombie apocalypse or alien invasion?
Alien invasion. Then we know they're out there!
Would you rather become a superhero or a supervillain?
Superhero. I would have the power to fly so I could fly up the hill with my bike and would never have to pedal uphills again.
Sunrise or sunset?
Sunset. Sunrise is too early so I'm busy sleeping.

Favorite moment of 2016

My favorite moment was at the World Cup finals in Andorra. Coming into the race I was 5th in the overall series points, but didn't know if I would be able to hold onto it. I didn't even consider it really. Then, when the last few riders came down, I realized I'd be on the podium for the race and finish 5th overall, which was far beyond my expectations.
