HEI HEI CARBON
THE HEI HEI EXPANSION
For 2017, we expanded the Hei Hei platform to feature three distinct groups, which include a dedicated Race and Trail lineage. The Hei Hei DL, Hei Hei Supreme, Hei Hei Race DL and Hei Hei Race Supreme 29-inch versions have an all-new carbon frame, while the Trail receives an all-new carbon frame with 27.5-inch wheels and 140mm of travel. The Hei Hei certainly has a lot of trail to cover this year.
HEI HEI, HEI HEI DELUXE AND HEI HEI SUPREME
The Hei Hei returns with its tried-and-true alloy version, while the Deluxe and Supreme get the all-new 1800g carbon frame with 120mm travel fork and large 29-inch hoops. They are built around our Fuse Independent Suspension with 100mm of rear wheel travel and a Boost 12 x 148mm back end for greater stiffness and clearance.
HEI HEI RACE, HEI HEI RACE DL AND HEI HEI RACE SUPREME
The entire Race series is built around 29-inch wheels, 100mm of balanced front and rear travel, Boost spacing and our proven Fuse Independent Suspension. The alloy version is race proven and found on the entry-level model, while the new 1800g carbon frame will adorn the Race DL and Race Supreme for all-out speed.
Over a year of testing in the factory and on the World Cup circuit went into the new all-carbon frame. We set very high standards for this frame, and we were delighted to see those standards exceeded. The result is a beautiful 1800g frame capable of handling a rigorous race schedule and clocking serious trail time.
Courses and trails are becoming faster and more technical at every event. We made all the calculations and measurements to ensure that the new frame was aggressive enough for XC racing, with 100mm of travel, and yet be trail savvy, so we gave it a longer travel 120mm fork capability for trail time.
HEI HEI TRAIL, HEI HEI TRAIL DL AND HEI HEI TRAIL SUPREME
The Trail line gets an all-carbon frame with Fuse Independent Suspension and a Boost 12x148 back end for added stiffness and clearance. The geometry is optimized for 27.5-inch wheels and 140mm of rear wheel travel, complimented by a long travel 140mm fork for more aggressive riding than its 29-inch sibling.
LIGHT AND STIFF CARBON FRAME
Utilizing the same carbon processes and rigorous testing as the other Hei Hei carbon frames—but optimized for 140mm of travel and 27.5-inch wheels—we’ve created an incredibly light and stiff trail bike that makes no sacrifice to overall capability or durability.
FUSE INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION
Designed to be as lightweight and efficient as possible, oriented specifically for the demands of the modern XC trail rider. Fuse Independent Suspension is designed around a single pivot with a predictable leverage ratio and features seatstays that rely on small degrees of frame flex rather than a pivot at the seat and chainstay junction.
NEW CARBON HONZO
This is how we see the future of hardtail mountain bikes: a lighter-weight carbon frame that has a more aggressive geometry, shorter chainstays with Boost spacing that deliver more pedal power, and a stiffer front end with 120mm of travel. And call us visionaries—we even included a dropper post on the Trail and Trail DL models to handle the increasingly progressive trails that are popping up all over, future proofing you from trail evolution.
NEW CARBON FRAME
Designed to be lightweight and built to be a Honzo. Our unique recipe is the precise combination of carbon fibers in the right places, which built a lightweight, durable, modern hardtail frame worthy of the Honzo name.
UPDATED RIDER FIT
We’re continually dialing in our bikes to make them better than before. It’s a tough job, but we spend days on the trail figuring out what works and what is in need of improvement. This year, we’ve extended the reach of the cockpit ever so slightly, resulting in more control without a loss in maneuverability.
The industry is constantly evolving and introducing new options. Before we implement any new options, we evaluate their relativity and practicality. The Boost spacing and stealth dropper post routing are seen not only as great new innovations, but as improvements to the overall ride and value of the bike.
Brand new for 2017, the Big Honzo takes the playful Honzo platform and gives it more traction, control and confidence with the addition of a 27.5-inch-plus footprint.
A fat-bike frame designed to push the trail-bike limits: Honzo-like short chainstays, geometry and trail characteristics with all the advantages of large tires. Optimized for a 100mm travel fork and built with sliding dropouts, making it easy to convert to a SS in a pinch.
Featuring our World Cup-podium-placing Beamer Independent Suspension and new 27.5-inch wheels, the Operator is expanding the possibilities. With an all-new aluminum frame built to take on the speed and abuse the downhill scene is famous for, as well as the control and roll over characteristics that 27.5-inch wheels offer, this bike is operating at an all-new level.
Designed to be off-the-top progressive, helping the bike to stay higher in travel and recover from hits more quickly, the Operator is imbued with what our product managers like to call “pure shock movement,” whereby the shock is protected from side load.
